Wilson Riley Berkstresser, a well known farmer of Taylor township, died at his home near Waterfall, Monday morning, October 5, 1936 from complications.

He had been ill for some time but was not considered serious until about four weeks ago. He was a son of Jesse and Mary McClain Berkstresser and was born on the old home farm in 1856, being aged 80 years.

Mr. Berkstresser was twice mar ried, his first wife died in 1921 and second wife in 1934. The following children survive to his first wife: Myrtle, wife of L. A. R. Lamberson of Hustontown; Inez, wife of I. B. Wathen of Rimersburg, Pa. ; Mrs. Meta Cromwell of Salem, Ohio; Ernest Berkstresser of Knobsville and Leonard, of Johnstown, Pa. Three children are deceased. He is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Laidig of Hustontown.

Mr. Berkstresser has lived in Taylor township practically his entire life time, where he followed farming. He was greatly interested in affairs of his county and township and has held a number of township offices. His death is a great loss to the community. He was a member of the Center M. E. Church.

Funeral services were held at his late home on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, in charge of his pastor, Rev. W. L. Phillips. Interment was made in the Center cemetery.
