Allen, Terence M. Col. U.S. M.C. retired, 78 of Sarasota, FL died October 4, 2009.

Services and burial will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.

Survivors include his wife, Martha and 7 children, Kevin, Kerry, Daniel, Lisa, Molly, Catherine, Eve and stepchildren, Thomas and Kim and 11 grandchildren.

Colonel Allen was born in St. Louis, MO and completed his PH.D. while serving in the Marine Corps for 28 years. He spent a graduate year teaching at the Naval War College in Newport R.I. His medals include the Silver Star, Legion of Merit with Combat V, Bronze Star with Combat V, Air Medal awarded in Vietnam for 50 plus combat flights over enemy territory, Military Merit with Combat V, U.S. Army medal for Military Merit (Lebanon 1958), National Defense Service Medal (Korea), Vietnam Service Medals with gold, silver and 2 bronze stars.

Decoration: Gold Marine Corps Parachute Wings, Army Jump Wings with 7 stars (combat jumps) and Master Jump Wings (1969 Vietnam).
