Ruby J. Davis, 87, of Flora, IL died at 10:09 AM Monday, September 14, 2009 at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham, IL.
She was born November 27, 1921 in Jefferson County, IL to James E. & Maude L. (French) Davis.
She was a records supervisor for GTE for 44 years. Ruby was saved in her early teens and was faithful member of Flora Church of The Nazarene since 1944, where she was a past Sunday School teacher, church treasurer, and church board member. Ruby loved her church and family.
She is survived by her sister, Lucy Davis of Flora, along with 5 nieces, 3 nephews, and several great & great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers (Cecil & Lowell Davis), and 2 sisters (Florence Holman & Ruth Sharp).
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday, September 17, 2009 at Frank & Bright Funeral Home with Pastor Phil Alvord officiating.
Burial will be in New Home (Lowrey) Cemetery in rural Jefferson County, IL. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Wednesday at Frank & Bright Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to Flora Church of The Nazarene.
