Mary Elizabeth Kessler peacefully left this earth to be with Our Heavenly Father. She was born to Reinhard and Mary Hay in Witchita, Kansas. The bond and love between Mary and her twin sister Margaret Kessler was immeasurable.
She was married to Theron Kessler for over 50 years. In 1952, she moved to Fresno, California with her husband and two daughters.
She worked for United Grocers-Flemming Foods for 30 years. She enjoyed playing pinochle, bowling, and her cat, Cleo.
She will be truly missed by her extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her brother, John Hay; sister, Dorothy Maddox; and great-grandson Caleb Colson.
She is survived by her brother, Reinhard Hay II; sister, Margaret Kessler; Theron Kessler, who she was married to for 53 years; daughters, Donna Lynne Nowell and her husband Ronald, Diane Rocco and her husband Dan; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandson.
Visitation will be held at Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns & Blair Funeral Home, on Monday, July 27, 2009, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. followed by Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, on Tuesday, July 28, 2009, at 10:00 a.m.
Interment to follow at St. Peter's Cemtery.
