Grover C Cloud's wife died at 12:45 PM on April 15, 1937, and Grover Cloud died at 1:30 PM on April 15, 1937, less than an hour after receiving word of his wife's death. Their children said their parents had always said they never wanted to live without each other.

Death struck twice in the same home yesterday taking the lives of a husband and wife, Grove Cleveland Cloud and Mrs. Hattie Cloud of 324 Curtain Alley. They were 52 years old.

Mrs. Cloud died at 12:45 p.m. at home and Mr. Cloud died at 1:30 p.m. at Knoxville General Hospital.

Mr. & Mrs. Cloud became ill on April 4. He had been an invalid since 1915, when he suffered injuries in a coal mine at Twin Branch, Virginia. His wife's health also had been fading, it was reported.

The bodies were removed yesterday from Weaver's Funeral Home to the home on Curtain Alley.

Surviving is two daughters, Mrs. Mary Lee Blair, and Miss Hazel Cloud, both of Knoxville; four sons, Edgar, Earnest, John, and Ruben Cloud, all of the city.

Mrs. Cloud also is survived by one brother, Henry BURCHELL of Granger Co, TN., and her mother Maggie Pedigo of Knoxville. Mr. Cloud leaves four brothers, Oscar, Henry, George, and Elbert Cloud, and a sister Mrs. Annie Knight of Knoxville.

Mr. & Mrs. Cloud formerly lived at Lenoir City and were members of Lenoir City Baptist Church. They came to Knoxville a few years ago.
