J. M. NELSON DEAD

John M. Nelson died this morning at 4 o'clock at his home, 517 Congress street, after a short sickness. Mrs. Nelson was taken suddenly sick the first of this week while at his place of business in the Baird building, where he has been disposing of the stock of the J. H. Griffith Hardware Company. Three daughters, Mrs. Jas. Masters, Bartlesville, Okla., Mrs. Seamans, of Udall, Kan., and Miss Floy Nelson, of Emporia, and one son, survive him. Mr. Nelson was 62 years old and a member of the Masons and the G.A.R. These orders will probably have charge of the funeral services, which will be held Sunday afternoon at the home.

FUNERAL OF J. M. NELSON

A most impressive funeral service was that of J. M. Nelson of 517 Congress street, which was held at the family home yesterday afternoon. It was under the auspices of the local lodge of Masons as well as the Methodist church. Rev. J. H. Price conducted the service at the house and the Masonic rites were managed by E. E. Fawcett, worshipful master.

About a hundred and ten Masons met at their hall and in their Masonic garb, marched up Commercial street to Sixth avenue and west to the Nelson home on Congress street. After the service at the home the Masons marched in the procession out Sixth avenue to West street, where carriages were waiting. The interment was made in Maplewood. Mr. Nelson was a member of the Independence, Kan., Masonic order. The pallbearers were Dan A. Dryer, John Hoffer, Hugh Holmes, George Simons, T. J. Turner and Halbert Haslee.
