PEGGY CHRISTOPHER VICTIM

According to reports from the Nacogdocghes County Sheriff's Department, the sheriff's office received a call at about 1pm Saturday in reference to a possible homicide at the Alazan Country Store. Offiers arrived at the scene to find Peggy dead, having been shot three times with a .38 caliber pistol.
The sheriff's department reported that Mr. Aaron Van Christopher,Peggy's father-in-law turned himself in at the courthouse at about 1:30pm. He was arraigned before Judge Bobo on murder changes and was denied bond.
Funeral Services for Peggy was held, July 14, at 10:30am in the Cason Monk & Co. Funeral Home Chapel. Officiation was Rev. Phil Metzinger of the Shady Grove Baptist Church. Interment was in the Shady Grove Cemetery.
Peggy was born July 1.1941 in Nacogdoches County. She married John L. Davis,Sr.in 1958 in Marshall, Harrison County, Texas. She lived in Marshall until 1968. She married Winford Donahoe in 1970 and Dwain Christopher in Dec.31,1972 in Nacogdoches County, Texas.
She was the daughter of Ira Thomas Kerr and Maude L. Reid.
Survivors include: husband Dwain Christopher, father Ira T. Kerr and stepmother Gay Lilly Birdwell Stanley Kerr, grandfather Emmitt Denton Reid, Sr., three sons John Lewis Davis,Jr., David Neal Davis and William Todd Davis, two daughter Terry Lynn Davis and Sherrie Ann Davis, three borther, Larry Frank Kerr, Thomas Ray Kerr and David Lynn Kerr.
Preceded in death by her mother Maude L. Reid Kerr, sister Mary Lou Kerr McGilvra, grandmother Luta David Muckleroy Reid and grandparents B.Kerr and Mary Margaret Gillis Kerr.
