Elder George W. Burt conducted services at the L.D.S. church at Beaverton Sunday afternoon, November 29, at 2 o'clock for George William Cooper. Burial was at the Beaverton cemetery. He was born May 7, 1871, at Rock Falls, Michigan. He married Miss Eliza Smith. Forty-two years ago they came to Beaverton and moved on a farm, where they have lived except for eight years when he operated The Cities Service Gas station at Beaverton. A year ago he moved back to his farm. He died November 27, 1936, of a complication of diseases.
Surviving him are: Mrs. Cooper; a son, Guy Cooper, of Muskegon Heights; two daughters, Mrs. T. W. Sloat of Detroit and Mrs. Ralph VanVolkenburg of Merrill; four grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Charles Badgeron of Spara, Mich.; and Mrs. Alma Trace of Cleveland, Ohio, and Mrs. Victor Brown of Grandville.
