George Washington Lane, 100, Route 1. Crockett, and formerly of Pulaski, died Tuesday night in the Wytheville Hospital. Born March 2, 1883 in Giles County, he was the son of the late Issac Lane and Margaret Anders Lane. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sallie Ann Newton Lane. He attended the Holiness church and was a retired farmer. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. James E. (Gracie Ellen) Akers, Crockett, and Mrs. Ernest Melvin (Myrtle) Repass, Snowville; three sons, Luther Lane and Charles Jason Lane, both of Pulaski, and Jesse Martin Lane, Eagle Rock and a number of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. A graveside service was conducted today at 2 p.m. in the Ray Cemetery, Pulaski, with the Rev. J.P. Hale officiating. Bower Funeral Home, Pulaski, was in charge or arrangements.
