Dorothy E. (Shea) Carlson Annis, 85, died on Thursday, June 4, 2009, in the Rose Monahan Hospice Home, Worcester, after an illness.

Her husband of 44 years, Parker B. Annis, died in 1997. She leaves 4 children: Carolyn D. Clark and her husband, Burton A. Clark, of Sutton, Madeline N. Carlson of Worcester, Ronald P. Annis, Sr., and his wife, Norma E. (Dunton) Annis, of Sutton, and John F. Annis of Monroe, ME; 9 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her brother, Joseph M. Shea of Worcester, and a grandson, Jeff E. Annis of Sutton. She was born in Worcester on April 24, 1924, daughter of the late Michael J. and Eva M. (Laske) Shea, and has lived in Sutton since 1952.

Mrs. Annis was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, crocheting, braiding rugs, reading and travel.

Her funeral service will be held at 9 AM on Monday, June 8, in Turgeon Funeral Home, 56 Main St., Millbury. Burial will follow in Howard Cemetery, Sutton. A visiting period in the funeral home will be Monday morning, June 8, from 8:30 to 9 AM, before the funeral service.

Donations in her memory may be made to the Rose Monahan Hospice Home, Development Office, 120 Thomas St., Worcester, MA 01608.
