He was a resident of this area for sixty two years; a member of Park Central Church of Christ in Port Arthur and a member of local Amateure Radio Clubs.
William was a veteran of WWII having served with the Naval Reserve at the battles of Iwo Jima and Okinawa.
Survivors include his wife Mary A. Griffith, daughter; Janet Davis and husband Bob, two sons; Rodney W. Griffith and wife Vickie and Robert M. Griffith and wife Lori, eight grandchildren Sarah Guarnere, Hannah Bretting, Joshua, Nathan, and Samuel Griffith, Robert, Jenna, and Betsy Davis, six great grandchildren Braiden, Camden, and Landen Guarnere, Cody, and Caithyn Bretting, and Nathan Griffith II.
Funeral services at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with Mr. Brian French officiating. Burial at Oak Bluff Memorial Park.
