Mr. Scarlett's death occurred at his home, 334 S. Willow Ave., Friday, following an extended illness.
Son of the late Watson and Jeannetta Dalton Scarlett, he was a native Putnam countian and has spent much of his life in Cookeville. He was Circuit Court clerk of Putnam count for a period of 12 years and served eight years as a deputy clerk.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Cora Judd Scarlett; seven daughters, Mrs. Elise Nash, Juanita Scarlett, Cookeville, Mrs. Emma Sue Andreoli, Detroit, Mrs. Bonnie Wozniak, St. Clair Shores, MI, Mrs. Joyce Taylor, Warren, MI, Mrs. Sylvia Johnson, Charlottesville, VA, Mrs. Jane Hillebrand, Kandakee, IL; two sons, Herbie Scarlett, U. S. Navy, San Diego, CA, Joe Scarlett, Detroit; three sisters, Mrs. Haile Nichols, Mrs. Vella McHenry, Cookeville, and Mrs. Eva Griffin of Carrolton, AL.
