Born in Watertown, Wisc, he moved to Oregon in l905 with his parents, four brothers and one sister. They settled in the Hazel Green area. He and his wife, Bertha, lived on the Hazel Green farm until his
retirement from farming and dairying. He served as a member and chairman of the Central Howell Precinct Election Board for 50 years.
Survivors include his son, Donald L., Salem; daughter, Lucile PAVLIK, Salem; and brothers Maurice and William A., both of Salem.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Rigdon-Ransom mortuary, with interment in Howell Prairie Cemetery.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Howell Prairie Cemetery Association, of which he was a longtime member." Oregon Statesman Jan. 9, l979.
