Harold "Hal" Joseph Schneider, age 91, a resident of Fresno since 1950 passed away. He was born in St. Louis, Mo. to Louis and Charlotte Eswin Schneider.

He was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church and was instrumental in the creation and building fund of the new Church.

Hal attended college and entered the US Army where he served in WWII, in the Pacific Theater in the Aleutian Islands.

He met his sweetheart at a USO dance in San Francisco and married the late Beatrice "Bea" May Paganini in December of 1944. They moved to Fresno where he worked for the California Raisin Administrative Committee for 39 years until his retirement in 1992.

In addition to his church service, Hal was very active in Council 4440 of the Knights of Columbus, and a member of the Fourth Degree Assembly in Fresno; he was a past Grand Knight and most importantly Hal served as Santa Claus.

He enjoyed playing golf, playing pinochle, bridge and just about any card game. Hal enjoyed spending time with his friends and the Senior's in Retirement group.

He loved his grandchildren. Hal was devoted to Bea his loving wife of 48 years and enjoyed camping at the coast and at Cedar Grove with his family.
