Funeral Service: 11:00 A.M. Monday, September 2, 2002 at the Centenary United Methodist Church in Beatrice, Nebraska.

Florence E. Zimmerman, 102 years of age, of Beatrice, NE. passed away in the Beatrice Manor Care Center in Beatrice, NE. Thursday afternoon, August 29, 2002. She was born on February 21, 1900 near DeWitt, NE. and was a 1919 graduate of the DeWitt High School. She and Ally Zimmerman were married on February 21, 1923 near DeWitt, NE. and they lived on a farm southwest of DeWitt until she moved into Beatrice in 1972. She was a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church in Beatrice, NE. and was a former member of the former Zion United Methodist Church near DeWitt, NE. She was a member of the AARP and was a former member of the Prairie Flower Extension Club in DeWitt, NE. She enjoyed crocheting, tatting, sewing and was a great Lawrence Welk fan.

Survivors include 2 sons, Dean E. Zimmerman and his wife Mary Jane of R. DeWitt, NE., and Marvin L. Zimmerman and his wife Lois of R. Plymouth, NE.; 5 grandchildren, Sarah Endorf and her husband Joel, Rachel Zimmerman, Julie Zimmerman, Cindy Zimmerman, and Chad Zimmerman and his wife Rachel; and one sister Beulah Dunn of Beatrice. She was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Josie (Simpson) Felderman, her husband Ally Zimmerman (8-15-1957), one sister Grace Kreuscher.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, September 2, 2002 in the Centenary United Methodist Church in Beatrice, NE. with Reverend Kelly Karges officiating. Interment will be at 1:30 P.M. Monday at the Oak Grove Cemetery in DeWitt, NE. The body will lie in state Sunday from noon - 9:00 P.M. at the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel and at the church one hour preceding the service. A family prayer service will be held at 10:45 A.M. Monday at the church. A memorial has been established to the Centenary United Methodist Church and the Oak Grove Cemetery Association with the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice, NE. in charge. Messages of condolence may be sent to [email protected]. They will be forwarded to the family.

The Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice is in charge of services.
