He is listed on the Muster Roll from Sep.10 1862 until Apr.1864. Edward was wounded and admitted to Wayside Hosp., Gen. Hosp. #9, Richmond, VA May 29,1864, diagnosed as "Disease USR Thight (thigh) M-B". Edward's right leg was amputated (Civil War Records, SC. tate Archives).
