He was a retired mail contractor with the U.S. Postal Service and a member of the Loyal Order of Moose 75 in Tallahassee.
He was a member of the Trinity Espscopal Church in Apalachicola.
He is survived by his wife, Ada Pearl Forbes Solomon, two sons, E Ray Solomon, Roy Solomon, a step-daughter Wanda Gay Curlee.

He has a half-brother, Malcolm Clark.
