As a result of a quarrel with his son-in-law, followed by a desperate fight, Ben. R. Haddock, who, for many years was constable of the Third precinct, Salt Lake City, died Monday night at his home, 525 North Seventh West street, from injuries received in the struggle.
His son-in-law, George E. Porter, 21 years of age, is locked up in the city jail, and will probably be charged with murder. His brother, Charles E. Porter, is also in custody, and will be held as a witness in the case. The trouble occurred at the home of George Porter, which is just next door to the Haddock home.
