John Corbin Butcher was born 19 September 1904 in Clinton County, Indiana, the son of Aaron and Frances (Phipps) Butcher. He died 29 April 1978 at his residence - Rt. 1, Wabash, Wabash County, Indiana. He was buried at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Roann, Wabash County, Indiana.

He married Leora Worden on 4 November 1923. She died 19 September 1972. He married Tressia France Marshall on 23 January 1973 in Port Charlotte, Florida.

Occupation: retired carpenter and farmer.

Survivors: sons: Fred Butcher, Robert Butcher, Ronnie Butcher and David Butcher; daughters; Mrs. Harold (Genieve) Schroll, Mrs. Loren (Martha) Crull and Mrs. Ronald (Charlotte) Hoff; step-sons: John Crist, Cliffored Crist and James Crist; step-daughter: Mrs. Martha Fisher; sisters: Mrs. William (Frances) Parker, Mrs. Kenneth (Stella) Kauffman, Mrs. Orville (Ida) Cowgill, Mrs. Kenneth (Edan) Smith, Mrs. Marvin (Lydia) Lawson and Mrs. Hugh (Thelma) Enicks.

One son, one brother and three sisters are deceased.
