Dan D. Stroud, age 78, of Oak Ridge passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2003 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. He was born on January 3, 1925 in Lyman, South Carolina, the son of Luther T. and Ruth J. Stroud, both deceased. He was a veteran of WWII serving with the US Navy.

Mr. Stroud was a member of the First United Methodist Church and was a devoted husband and father. He retired from Union Carbide Corp / Y-12 where he was Superintendent of the Maintenance Dept.

He is survived by wife of 57 years, Myra Hopkins Stroud
Daughters, Judy and Janet Stroud
Sister, Hazel Bolin and husband Brunson of Atlanta, GA.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 22, 2003 at the First United Methodist Church at 11:00 am with Rev. Robert Cantrell officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.

Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church Youth Choir, 1350 Oak Ridge Turnpike, Oak Ridge, TN 37830. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6:00 – 8:00pm at Weatherford Mortuary, Oak Ridge.
