WEST POINT - C.A. Simmons, 66, died, Saturday, Dec. 27, 2008, at North Mississippi Medical Center in West Point. He was born July 7, 1942, in Clay County to Emmie Myers Malone and the late Ralph Washington Simmons. He was a mechanic and engine builder for 50 years and a Baptist. He married June Roebuck Simmons on Aug. 18, 1972, in West Point.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday from Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with the Bro. Eddie Brock officiating. Burial will follow in Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery in Cedar Bluff. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, June Simmons of West Point; two daughters, Wanda Armstrong (Richard) of Blountstown, Fla. and Robbie Lauderdale (Adam) of Athens, Ala.; one son, Allen Simmons (Michelle) of West Point; five grandchildren, James Scott, Crystal Scott, Kip Davis, Skyla Davis and Reid Lauderdale; one great-grandson, Kyle Scott; his Mother, Emmie Myers Malone of Cedar Bluff; three sisters, Peggy Ann Moorhead (Donald) of Florence, Linda J. White (Roby) of Cedar Bluff and Mary Taylor of Columbus.

He was preceded in death by his step-father, Lawrence "Polly" Malone; and two brothers, Thomas "Nick" Simmons and Clyde Simmons.

Pallbearers will be Doug Abrams, Mike Ross, Laymon Watson, Jimmy Terry, Tommy Riddle, Clyde Pierce, Kenny Davis and Bobby Huffman.

Honorary Pallbearers will be those remembered as his many friends.
