Pearl was a daughter of William and Mary Morris, born on a farm outside the Village of Fairfield (now Fairborn) in Bath Township. She married Oscar McClain in Greene County, Ohio in 1910. Oscar died in 1941 and she remarried in 1947 to Roy Mattix whose first wife passed away the year before. When Roy died in 1963 he was buried with his first wife Emaline; Pearl is buried with her first husband Oscar.
