Charles J. "Charlie" Casey, 81, of Gazebo View Drive, died peacefully Monday at home surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of Kathleen D. (Aylesworth) Casey. They were married for thirty- two years. Mr. Casey was also the husband of the late Catherine (Kilkenny) Casey.

Born and raised in the Smith Hill section of Providence, a son of the late Robert L. and Mary Jane (Wrenn) Casey, he lived in Warwick for the past seven years, previously living in Narragansett and Clinton, Connecticut.

Charlie was the traffic/pricing manager for Cheeseborough Ponds in Connecticut. for eighteen years, retiring in 1988. Previously, he worked as a freight agent for the New York, New Haven Railroad for over twenty years.

He served his country proudly in the United States Navy during WW II and the Korean War.

Charlie was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 2011, North Kingstown, American Legion, Post 15, East Greenwich, and the Westbrook, Connecticut Elks Lodge, 1784.

Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, Charles J. Casey Jr, and his wife Sharon, Kevin Casey and his wife Kristin; three daughters, Mary-Catherine Sullivan and her husband Jerry, Maureen Wickersham and her husband Mark, and Elizabeth Burns and her husband David; and nine grandchildren. He was a brother of the late Elizabeth Casey.

The funeral will be held Saturday, at 7:45 am, from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 am in Saint Patrick Church, 244 Smith Street, Providence. Burial, with military honors, will be in Saint Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours Friday, 4 – 7 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to Beacon Hospice, Lighthouse Foundation, 529 Main Street, Suite 101, Boston, Massachusetts 02129 or Saint Patrick Church, 244 Smith Street, Providence, RI 02908 in his memory will be appreciated.
