HOWARD CLIFTON ABBOTT
Mr. Howard Clifton Abbott, age 81, of 10821 Las Vegas St., Youngstown, Fla., passed away at his home Sunday, Nov. 19, 2000. Mr. Abbott had been a resident of Bay County since 1954, coming here from Alabama. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II, retired from International Paper Company and Southwest Forrest Industries and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Abbott is survived by two daughters, Jewell A. Hance of Youngstown, Fla., and Barbara A. Brown of Valdosta, Ga.; three sons, H.A. "Sonny" Abbott of Panama City Beach, Larry N. Abbott of Lake Merrill, Fla., and Clifton Charles Abbott of Tallahassee; one sister, June Main of Hanceville, Ala.; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Mr. Abbott was preceded in death by his wife, Bulah "Boots" Abbott, four brothers, and three sisters. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Nov. 21at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel, with interment following at the Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
