She departed this life Tuesday, December 5, 2000, at her Edmond residence, at the age of 72 years, 8 months, and 5 days. Joy was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Anderson Humphries; mother and father, Stella Lorraine & Archibald David Stroud; 2 sisters, Eula Faye Gragg and Juanita Alice Mahan; 1 brother, Wilmer Sampson. She leaves behind 4 daughters, Sharon Ann Humphries, Marilyn Lorraine Bohl, Juanita Lois Hampton, and Kimberly Ruth Humphries; 3 sons, Bobby Jack Humphries, Sidney David Humphries, and Carl Wayne Humphries; 17 grandchildren, one of which was blessed to be born on her birthday; and 10 great-grandchildren; 3 wonderful daughters-in-law, Karen, Sheryl, and Margaret; and a very special son-in-law, James Walter Hampton; 3 sisters, Verda Byrd, Lorraine Brown, and Ruth Weaver; 1 brother, Charles Sampson. Joy retired from Oklahoma PublishingCompany in 1995.
