John Wicliffe Stucker of Hot5chkiss was born in Washington County,Iowa on March 9,1870, and died Feb 23 at St. Mary's Hospital. He was the son of Larkin and Jane Stucker.
Later, the family moved to Kansas. In 1887 he was married to Nina Grace Bullis, and to this union four sons and thre daughters were born. They made their home near Salina,Kan. until moving to Colorado in 1918.
He is survived by his wife,at their home in Hotchkiss;four sons,Arnold of Paonia,Abb of Grand Junction,Harry of Hotchkiss and Earl of Delta; three daughters,Mrs. Dott Hutchins of Hendley,Neb.,Mrs. Grace McMillan of Hotchkiss,Mrs. Ida Tuckerof Sacramento,Calif;a brother,Nate Stucker of Paonia and a sister,Mrs. Callie Cox of Palacios,Texas;18 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at Hotchkiss Community Methodist Church on Feb. 27. Services were conducted by Rev. Everett Matz of Hotchkiss and Jack Stewart of Olathe. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery.
Six grandsons were pallbearers. They are Paul Stucker,Harry A Stucker and Rex Stucker,all of Grand Junction;Harold Stucker of Glenwood Springs,Donald Stucker of Fort Collins and Marvin Stucker of Paonia.
