Homeopathic physician who moved to Honolulu from Oakland in 1898. Married Ruth Barstow Dyer in 1892; had one son, Morris Curtis Augur. In 1914 Dr. Augur became the first person to take the Baha'i Faith to Japan. He was given the rank of 19th Disciple of 'Abdu'l-Baha by Shoghi Effendi, head of the Baha'i Faith.

Dr George Jacob Augur was the head of Queen's Hospital in Honolulu. He is a famous Baha'i, having been designated "The 19th Disciple of 'Abdu'l-Baha" by the then Head of the Baha'i Faith, Shoghi Effendi Rabbani.

Dr. Augur is in the back row at the extreme left. This photo was taken on the occasion of two Baha'i travellers who visited Honolulu on a teaching trip. Photograph taken in Dr. Augur's back yard in Honolulu.

This photo is a segment of a larger group photograph taken in Dr. Augur's backyard in December, 1909 in Honolulu. The State Capitol of Hawaii now covers the ground where Dr Augur and his wife had their house.
