Known to all as "Red", my half-brother was a kind and gentle man. He was the middle child of William McKinley Bullock and Alvah Cora Howell Bullock. He was my half-brother, as my father and Alvah were divorced and Dad remarried.

Red was 27 years older than I, so we had little in common, but when he came to visit Dad (which the other two children did NOT do until Dad was ill late in life), he was always pleasant, courteous, and considerate towards me.

Red and his wife, known as Barney, had no children. Red was a gentle giant (at least from my perspective!)and was quite softspoken, and somewhat shy.

I wish we had had the opportunity to get to know each other better as adults, but I never saw him again after Dad's funeral, in March 1971. At that time, I was only 23 and we lived out of state.
