Herman H. Rethman, 79, of Martensdale died of cancer Sunday, Oct. 30, 1988, at Riverview Care Center in Des Moines. Services were held Nov. 1 at Overton Funeral Home, with the Rev. John W. Long officiating. Burial was in Webb Cemetery near Spring Hill.
Mr. Rethman was born in Webster City and had farmed in Greenfield Township before moving to Martensdale 10 years ago. He was retired.
Surviving are a daughter, Shirley Alexander of Norwalk; a brother, Ralph of Placentia, Calif; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
