Latimer W. Nearhood, 59, of RD., Shirleysburg, died unexpectedly at 4 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, 1975, at his home.

Born March 2, 1916, at Germany Valley, he was a son of Lester and Isabelle (Snyder) Nearhood.

Surviving are his widow, Lola Nearhood of Mapleton Depot, and the following children: Mrs. John D.(Doris) Hocker and William Allen, both of R.D., Shirleysburg; Mrs. Gerald (Judy) Glunt, Kistler, and Denver J., Three Springs. There are 10 grandchildren.

Also surviving are two sisters and two mothers, Mrs. Jess Garman of Calvin and Mrs. Merle Pecht, Donald and Edward, all of R.D. Three Springs.

The deceased attended the Cedar Crest Lucy Furnace Chapel.

He had worked on gas line construction up until this year.

Funeral services will be a t 2 p.m., Saturday, June 28, from the Heath Funeral Home in Mount Union. The Rev. Leon Foote will officiate and burial will be in the Three Springs Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, and on Saturday from 9 a.m. until time for services.
