C. Lorraine Swope, 70, of Orbisonia, R.D., died at 8 p.m. Friday, March 28, 1986, at the Hershey Medical Center.
Born March 2, 1916, in Shirley Township, Huntingdon County, he was the son of Millard Woodward and Jossie Mae (Hammon) Swope.
On August 25, 1938, he was married to Elloise Park who survives. Also surviving are two sons: Rev. Lester Swope, New Providence; and Dwight Swope, Orbisonia. A daughter, Bonnie Reed preceded him in death.
There are six grandchildren. Surviving are two brothers and two sisters: Arthur Swope, Crystal Falls, Mich; Mrs. Ilene Beatty and Mrs. Viriginia Sechrist, both of Mount Union; and Charles Miller, Mount Union. Four brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
Mr. Swope was a member of the Walnut Grove Church of God,Three Springs. He served as a forest fire warden for 30 years. He was a farmer and a machinist and was last employed by the Huntingdon Machine Company.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, March, at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, Orbisonia, the Rev. Stanley Cordell officiating. Interment will be made in the Three Springs Cemetery. Friends may call at funeral home on Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Monday from 9 a.m. until the hour of service. Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Swope's name to the Huntingdon County Chapter of the American Cancer Society, 4 W. Market St. Mount Union
