On Thursday, September 15, 2005, Henry Adams, Sr., departed this life after a brief illness at Archbold Memorial Hospital.
He was born on September 5, 1941, in Thomasville, Georgia, where he lived until his death.
He was the son of the late Joe Adams and Elnora Adams, who preceded him in death, and the following sisters and brothers, Emma Grace Jackson, Lucille Mathis, Mildred Williams, Rosa Gray, Herman Adams, Willie Fred Adams, also precede him in death.
He attended Douglass High School, Thomasville, Georgia. He accepted Christ at an early age while attending Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, Thomasville, Georgia. He later got baptized at The New Life Power and Praise Apostolic Faith Church, Thomasville, Georgia. He was employed at Johnson's Institution for eight years.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Evelyn Adams, Thomasville, Georgia; daughters, Shelman A. Walthour (Willie), Thomasville, Teresa Adams, Statesboro, Georgia, Philip Henry Adams, Valerie Eason (Edward), Cairo, Deborah Cooper (Donald), Henry Adams, Jr., Alfred Cole, Thomasville, Tiffany Brown (Mark), Cairo; Goddaughter, Nigerian Johnson, Thomasville; brothers, Willie James Davis, Joe Adams, Thomasville, Walter Adams, Fort Myers, Fla.; sisters, Hattie Ferrell (Tommy), Annie Addison (Tommy), Thomasville, five brothers-in-law; two sisters-in-law, Thomasville; and a devoted niece and her husband, Gladys and Shug Safford. A devoted friend and brother-in-law, Sammy Gosier, Willie "C" Wilks. He also leaves 16 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
