Bertha Mae Loftin passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, in Trinity, Texas on August 29, 2023. She was born September 11, 1927 in Spindletop, Texas to Gustav and Cleriza (Arabie) Blanchard.
She is preceded in death by her parents; loving husband of 60 plus years, Samuel Loftin; sister Marie Henderson; granddaughter Jerilyn Hambrick, and great-grandsons Samuel Lawerence and Joshua Steven.
She is survived by her children, Carole Hafer and husband Roy; Theresia Hambrick and husband Bobby, and Samuel Eugene Loftin, Jr. and wife Yolanda. Numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends also survive.
Bertha was a devout Catholic and attended Most Holy Catholic Church of Trinity. She was very crafty and enjoyed painting and making dolls. Born with a "green thumb", she enjoyed spending time outdoors tending to her flowers and vegetables. In her leisure time, she loved listening to cajun music and dancing to Zydeco. More than anything, she cherished her husband and now they are reunited and together once again.
