Maurice E. Amspacher, 74, formerly of New Freedom, died Thursday at 8:20 a.m. at Pleasant Acres Hospital where he was admitted eight days before. He had been a guest for the past several months at Yorkview Nursing Home. Amspacher was a lifelong resident of the New Freedom area and for most of his life was a farm laborer. Surviving are eight brothers and sisters, Raymond Amspacher, Emigsville; Mrs. George Strausbaugh, Dallastown; Melvin Amspacher, Seven Valleys RD 2; Clinton Amspacher, Hellam RD 11; Monroe Amspacher, Glenview Road, Glen Rock; Mrs. Jenny Abel, Seven Valleys RD 2; Earl Amspacher, Glen Rock RD 2, and Mrs. Preston Stiffler, Glen Rock RD 2. The Rev. Elmo D. Beck, pastor of St. Peter’s (Yellow) United Church of Christ, Seven Valleys RD, will officiate at the funeral Monday at 10 a.m. at the Geiple Funeral Home, Glen Rock. Burial will be in Jerusalem (Fissel’s) Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
