Brian Paul Abbott, 40, of Newaygo, passed away on October 8, 2023, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He was born on October 21, 1982, to Kevin and Susan (Knoll) Abbott in Fremont, Michigan.

Brian was a family man through and through. He was a provider. He had a tremendous work ethic and took great pride in providing for his wife and four children. Brian believed in showing up for the people in his life. Birthday parties, family events, extra-curriculars for his kids, nephews, and nieces-Brian was there, supporting his family in his unique and sincere way, with his warped sense of humor, his comforting presence, and his consistent love.

Brian had the rare human quality of putting others before himself. He gave without expecting anything in return. He moved through the world with quiet confidence, comfortable in his skin, giving, always giving, any and everything he had to give.

Brian was a fighter right to the very end. He lived a good life. He loved and he was loved in return.

He will be missed.

God, will Brian be missed.

Brian is survived by his wife, Melissa (Walker) Abbott, children, Oliver Abbott, Jonathan Abbott, Elijah Abbott, Makayla Abbott; parents, Kevin and Susan Abbott; siblings, Daniel (Vanessa) Abbott, Desiree (Luke) Kramer, Carly Abbott, Lindsay (Mike) Ditter; mother-in-law, Marcia Walker; father-in-law; Stephen Walker; brothers-in-law, Stephen Walker, Chris (April) Walker, Nathan Walker; grandmothers, Beatrice Abbott, Carline Knoll, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Walter Abbott, Richard Knoll, and his aunt, Jeanne Knoll.
