John Joseph Raymond Ryan, 87, of Harrisonville, died March 31, 2008 at his home.

Mr. Ryan was born September 1, 1920, in Cassville, the son of Frank and Anna Baker Ryan. He was a graduate of Cassville High School and an Army veteran of World War II. He had been a golf pro in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and owned and operated a grocery store in Mineral Springs. He owned Ryan's Vending in Kansas City until retiring in 1995. He was a member of Mineral Springs Baptist Church.

He married Bernita Brooks on March 27, 1946, in Bentonville, Arkansas, and she preceded him in death November 18, 2005.

Survivors include one daughter, Peggy Kutchback of Harrison; one brother, Troy Ryan of Fayetteville, Arkansas; two sisters, Frances Ennis of Verona and Frieda Williams of Parkville; one grandchild and three great grandchildren.

He was preceded death by one sister, Louise Eix.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. tomorrow, April 3, at Mineral Springs Cemetery in Cassville under the direction of Fohn Funeral Home of Cassville.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. tomorrow at the funeral home.
