James Madison or Mattie as he was known, was born in Kentucky and moved to Missouri as a child with his family. He married his neighbor Nancy Minerva Norris on November 22, 1877. They farmed near Salem and raised 4 children, Malsene, Henry Bradford, Edmond and Roy Otis.
He was my Great Grandfather.
