Clouse Benjamin was born in Licking County, Ohio, Feb. 26, 1854, the son of Benjamin and Lydia Clouse. There were 6 boys and one girl in the family, all of whom are deceased. He married Bertha Butts, and they came to Green Twp, to make their home. They had four sons and one daughter. Exactly 45 years ago on Nov. 6, the date of his death, the wife and mother died. All of the children survive. They are Roy, Hershel and Harmon of near Albion, Harvey of Johnstown, Ohio, and Mrs. Edna Haycook of Center Village, Ohio. There are 19 grandchildren living, one, Bert, son of Hershel, having died just a few years ago; and there are 14 great-grandchildren. About three years ago he became a member of the Baptist Church at Burr Oak. He was 80 years, 8 months and 10 days of age. Funeral Nov. 8 at Burr Oak. Burial, Christian Chapel Cemetery. + 11-?-1934
