Marshall E. Dell, 89, formerly of Mapleton Depot, died Sunday morning, October 22, 2006, at Huntingdon Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born May 12,1917, in Wood Township, he was a son of George W. and Nettie Mae (Park). He was united in marriage to the former O. Blanche Lane in August 1938. Mrs. Dell preceded him in death July 19, 1970. He is survived by four children, Robert E. Dell, Mapleton Depot, Peggy Lee Lehman, Oak Ridge, NC; Nancy J. Thompson, Davenport, IA; and Sue Ann Hess, Newton Hamilton; six grandchildren, James Lehman, Jr, Pamela Thompson, Michael Dell, David Lehman, Gary Anderson, and Randall Thompson; eight great-grandchildren, and his companion, Hazel Ruby, Mapleton Depot, He is also survived by six siblings, Lola Butler, Mapleton Depot, Irene Mellott, Shirley Home for the Aged, Shirleysburg; Myrtle Sherick, Saltillo; and Vera Gurd, Betty Bloom, and James Dell, all of Huntingdon. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kathy Anderson; and a brother and two sisters, Robert Dell, Esther Drace, and Velma Lightner. Mr. Dell was a member of the Cornelius Chapel United Methodist Church, Mapleton Depot. During his life, he worked as a coal miner and construction worker. Funeral services will be held a 11 AM, Wednesday, October 25, 2006 at the Robert I. McClain Funeral Home, Cassville, with the Pastor Kenneth Morris officiating. Interment will be made in the Cornelius Chapel Cemetery, Mapleton Depot, R.R. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to Wednesday's services.
