Deceased Name: Donald Franklin Barber

Donald Franklin Barber, age 86, of Findlay, and formerly of Huntingdon, PA, died at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday, August 16, 2006 at Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center. He was born in North Baltimore, Ohio on July 11, 1920 to the late Arthur R. and Esther B. (Monasmith) Barber. On June 14, 1942, he married Evelyn J. Murphy and she survives. Also surviving are: daughters, Carolyn (John) Roller of Carlisle, PA and Mary (Dale) Hoffman of Findlay; grandchildren, Kevin Hoffman of Quakertown, PA; Melissa (Scott) Greenwood of Mt. Holly Springs, PA and Pamela (Randy) Schmidt of Taichung, Taiwan; great-grandchildren, Devon and Trevor Greenwood and Matthias, Myles and Micah Schmidt; and brother, Harold Barber of Van Buren. Two siblings, Dale Barber and Carol Nuding preceded him in death. Mr. Barber was retired from Harbison-Walker Refractories. He served his country during WWII active in the US Army. He was a graduate of North Baltimore High School, a life member of the American Legion and VFW in PA and a member of the Senior Citizens in PA. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 20, 2006 at Cutright-Speck Funeral Home, Ridge Road and Juniata Ave., Huntingdon, PA 16652, where visitation will be held on Saturday from 7-9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the 12th Street United Methodist Church Loyal Brothers Class in his memory. Local arrangements were handled by COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME.
