Abram Dowden, Kisatchie.

Natchitoches, La., Sept. 22. - Abram Rinkles Dowden died at his home at Kisatchie Thursday, and was buried yesterday with impressive Masonic ceremonies. Mr. Dowden was sixty-eight years of age, and served with distinction in the Consolidated Crescent Regiment until the end of the war, and participated in all the battles in which his regiment was engaged. He was born in Natchitoches, near the place where he died, and had been a member of the Masonic fraternity over forty years. Deceased was a brother of S. G. Dowden, at present parish assessor; is survived by his widow, five sons, three brothers and one sister. He was a member of the police jury from his ward (Eighth) and served faithfully over sixteen years. Mr. Dowden was a sincere friend, a faithful husband and affectionate father and an honored citizen.
