Martha R. Hamilton, 83, Shirleysburg, R.R.1, Box 6074, died Saturday, July 2, 2005, at the J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon. She was the wife of the late Melvin V. Hamilton, who died September 26, 1994. Born February 22, 1922, in Springfield Township, Huntingdon Co, she was a daughter of the late Joshua Brown and Olive Naomi Lane Roher. She was a member of the Amalgamated Clothing & Textile Workers Union and Cherry Grove Church of God and it's Womens's Ministries for many years. For the last few years, she attended Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Mt. Union. She was a 1938 graduate of Saltillo High School and was employed at the former Publix Shirt Factory in Myerstown until she retired in 1985. Before that, she worked at L. Grief Bros, Mfg, Mt. Union, and it's successor, Genesco Corp until it closed. She enjoyed sewing, chocheting and doing crossword puzzles. Surviving are children, D. Jayne, wife of Michael Zimmerman, Shirleysburg, R.R. #1, and Gary E., husband of Elizabeth Hamilton, Myerstown, sister Clema G. Nead, Three Springs, seven grandchildren, 13 great-granchildren, and a great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by a grandchild and brothers, Melvin F. and Fred A. Roher. Services will be at 11AM, Wednesday, at the Robert D. Heath Funeral Home, Mt. Union, with vistitation from 7-9 PM, Tuesday, and 9AM (Wednesday). Interment will be in the Cherry Grove Cemetery, Three Springs, R.R. #1.
