Abram John Lane of Three Springs, R. D, Clay Township, passed away this Wednesday, July 21, 1954, at 7:10 A.M. in the J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon after a two week illness. The deceased was born January 1, 1885, in Clay Township. The son of Scott and Mary Ann (Ranck). He was united in marriage to Iva Laroy Rupert on February 11, 1913. She preceded him in death on November 23, 1929. Lane was engaged in farming and spent his entire life in Clay Township. He was a member of the Cherry Grove Church of God. Two children, Mrs. Marshall (Olive Blanche) Dell of Mapleton Depot, R.D., and Glenn T. Lane of Liberty, Missouri survive. One son, Clair, proceded him in death, July 21, 1944. Seven grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters also survives: Mrs. Olive Roher and Otis Lane of Three Springs, R.D.; Jay Lane of Pittsburgh; Ellis Lane of Mankato, Minnesota; Clinton Lane of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Frank Lane of Harrisburg; and Mrs. Nevada Beckwith of Pasadena, California. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 24, 1954, at 2 PM in the Cherry Grove Church of God in Clay Township. His pastor, the Rev Herbert A. Boyles, will officiate and burial will be made in the Cherry Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the McClain Funeral Home in Cassville, PA, after 7 PM on Thursday, until noon on Saturday, and at the church until the hour of the services.
