Nolan Arthur Posey, 89, of Crawfordville, FL passed on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 in Tallahassee, FL.
Nolan is a life-long resident of Crawfordville, FL. He graduated High School in 1952 from the Crawfordville High School, where he played Football, Baseball, Basketball and was involved in Track and Field. Nolan worked for 35 years as a Printer/Pressman at Artcraft Printers and he retired in 1996. In the late 70s and early 80s, Nolan spent many hours coaching youth baseball and he was a coach of the first Little League baseball team that made the state playoffs. Nolan loved to fish the Ochlocknee River, many lakes in Wakulla county, Gulf flats in Wakulla and Franklin counties and he enjoyed picking up, opening and eating Oysters. Nolan was drafted into the Army and served 2 years (1957 to 1959) in the Korean War as a Radio Operator. He was honorably discharged from the Army in 1963 after serving an additional 4 years in the Army reserves.
Nolan was preceded in death by his father Noah Arthur, mother Annie "Grandma Posey", brothers Monroe, Royce (Joyce), Jack (Annie), Bobby (Aileen), Billie (Herstine) and sister Martha (H.D.) Lawhon. Survivors include his loving wife of 69 years Nadine, sons Jeff (Jeanine) and Kurt (Saeedeh), sisters Annie Kate (Joe) Green and Wanda (Billy) Pelham, grandkids Justin (April), Crystal, Cole, Kevin, Chris, step grandkids Daniel Keller and Kymberlee (Keith) Shields and many great grandkids.
A public visitation for Nolan will be held Monday, May 1, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at First Baptist Church Crawfordville, 3086 Crawfordville Hwy, Crawfordville, FL 32327. A graveside service with military honors will occur Tuesday, May 2, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Crawfordville Cemetery, 17-27 Shadeville Road, Crawfordville, FL 32327.
