With a deep sense of sorrow and loss, the family of Olga Anne Dolynchuk announce her passing on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at the age of 87 years.
Olga was a devoted wife to her husband, Frank; a caring mother of three, baba of six, great-baba of six and a dear friend to many.
Olga had a cheerful spirit; she dealt with her physical adversity with resilience and grace. She loved to tell stories, reminisce, and enjoy the company of others. In her earlier years, she was fond of traveling, especially to Las Vegas. Whether in Vegas or at home, she could often be found trying her luck playing bingo or card games. An excellent cook and host, Olga's table was always packed with the most delicious food. If you were going to Baba's, you had better bring a huge appetite. Her cabbage rolls will always reign supreme.
As time progressed, Olga needed more care and became a St. Joseph's Auxiliary Hospital resident. The Rosewood Wing is where she spent the last eight years of her life. We, as a family, are incredibly grateful to all the nurses and staff who cared for Olga and made St. Joseph's a comfortable home for her and Frank with his daily visits in her final years.
Olga will be dearly missed by her daughter, Grace (Bill) Flasha; son, Daniel (Shelley) Dolynchuk; grandchildren, Stacey (Scott), Jackie, Seth (Pam), Jennifer, Blair (Anastacia) and Scott; and great-grandchildren, Victoria, Brandon, Hudson, Piper, Forest, and Leila.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; son, Alan; and siblings, Joe, Nick, and Nancy.
Funeral Service Thursday, April 27, at 10 a.m. at Park Memorial Chapel, 9709 - 111 Avenue, Edmonton, with interment to follow in St. Michael's Cemetery.
