Sandra Lee "Sandy" Call, 83, of Sioux City went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at a local hospital. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at Grace United Methodist Church in Sioux City. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Sandy was born March 2, 1940 in Sioux City, to Everett and Bonnie (Linn) Sager. She grew up and attended school in the Leeds neighborhood. She married Reverend Dr. Allen Call on June 24, 1961 at Wesley United Methodist Church in Sioux City. To this union, two children were born: Todd in 1964 and Teresa in 1967. The two shared over 40 years of marriage, and Allen passed away in 2004. Her first job was playing organ for a local skating rink. From there, she developed her craft and became a piano teacher for over 60 years. She played the organ for the various Methodist churches where Allen served, while also leading the handbell choir and children's choir at church. Sandy was a member of PEO for 35 years, and most recently served as Vice President. She loved spending time with her family, and always enjoyed watching her grandchildren's sporting events. She enjoyed gardening and tending to her plants and flowers, traveling around the world with Allen, and taking her grandsons to Disney World! Survivors include her daughter, Teresa Mathers (Todd), grandsons: Jacob and Brock Mathers; granddaughter, Corteney Call; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen; a son, Todd Call; and her parents.
