Our beloved husband, Father, grandfather and brother passed away Monday, March 27, 2023, at McLaren Bay Region, age 89. Leonard was born January 9, 1934 in Beaver, Michigan to the late Lawrence and Frances (Zielinski) Bayer. He graduated from St. Stanislaus High School in the early 1950"s. He would later marry the love of his life Germaine S. Shafer on May 17, 1958 and Germaine survives him. He was a veteran and served his country with the US Army. Leonard retired from Bay City Chevrolet after more than 30 years of dedicated service and was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish-St. Hyacinth Church. He was an avid sports fan, especially any sport when the University of Michigan was playing.
