Kenneth Abagis went home to be with the Lord on his birthday, March 1st.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Helen Abagis; brothers, George and Robert Abagis.

In WWII he served in the 11th Airborne, which accomplished a notable feat; liberating over 2,000 internees that had been interned for over four years at Los Banõs Internment Camp. Before the peace treaty was signed, he went with the 11th Airborne to assist in restoring order in Tokyo. After WWII he attended Boston University and the University of Florida Law School. He was commissioned a 1st Lieutenant in the Army Judge Advocate General where he remained until his retirement as a military judge in 1968. He practiced law in West Germany with an American law firm, for 2 years. He enjoyed teaching the Senior Men's Bible class at Warrington Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon.

He leaves behind his devoted wife Dorothy Crotts of Apalachicola, whom he met while stationed there.

Survivors also include his sons,
Kenneth M. Abagis Jr., and
Ralph Abagis (Karen);
daughter, Deborah Findley (Van);
five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Donald Finley, U.S. Marines, Aaron Finley, National Guard, Michael Feldman, John Feldman, Mark Feldman, Kenny Feldman.

Visitation will be Tuesday, March 4, 2008 from 5 to 7 PM at Oak Lawn Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be held Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at 11:00 AM at Oak Lawn Funeral Home 619 New Warrington Road, with Dr. Larry White officiating.
Interment will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery with full Military Honors.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Covenant Hospice 5041 North 12th Avenue Pensacola, Florida 32504.
