Gladys L. Smith, 77 of Columbus passed away Tuesday February 26, 2008 at Quaker Hill Manor in Lowell, KS following a period of illness.
Gladys was born March 17, 1930 in Columbus, the daughter of Arthur and Lora (Sisney) Duncan.
She attended the Columbus Schools, worked for Big Smith Manufacturing, was a bookkeeper for Windle Ford Garage and later was the bookkeeper for Medicalodge of Columbus for 13 years. She retired 1990.
She was a member of the Crestline First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers: Herbert Duncan and Robert Duncan and a grandson Bobby Dale Tedlock.
Survivors include 2 daughters: Sharon Tillman and husband Charles of Galena and Kathy Doherty and husband Danny of Columbus; 2 grandchildren Shannon Hopkins and husband Cody and Josh Doherty and wife Deedra; a great- grandson Christian Doherty and a sister Audrey Cooper of Belvidere, IL.
Funeral Services will 10:00 A.M. Thursday February 28, 2008 in the Murdock Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Paul Duncan officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until service time. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Crestline First Baptist Church with Murdock Funeral Home, 132 E. Pine, Columbus, KS 66725 serving as custodian.
