Bonnie Jean Starks Sweny, 78, Jeffersonsville, IN, died Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at her home. A native of Shelbyville, she was the daughter of the late Eva Cecil Hedges and Everett Starks, Jr. She attended Eastern High School in Louisville. She was a waitress and manager for Denny's Restaurant. In her leisure time, she enjoyed crocheting and adult coloring. She was a Baptist by faith.

In addition to her parents, one brother, Ronnie Starks, and one grandchild, Chelsea Williams, preceded her in death.

Survivors include three children, Lisa Williams (Garnett Morgan) of LaGrange, Tracey Williams-Bone (Steve) of Jeffersontown and Curt Williams (Heidi) of Eastwood; her adopted daughter, Sarah Byrd of Salem, IN; her brother, Richard Starks (Kathy Jamison) of Shelbyville; eight grandchildren, James, Jessica, Cody, Kayla, Steven, Alexandrea, Samuel and Michael; nine great-grandchildren, Shawn, Alana, Natayla, Clara, Avalee, Mackenzie, Kierre, Emme and Shepherd and many friends.

Cremation was selected in accordance with her wishes. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, November 25 with visitation after 11 a.m. Eric Hedges will officiate. The cremated remains will be privately interred later at Grove Hill Cemetery.
